FOIA Request to Village of Wind Point Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
We at Racine Sun, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for records pertaining to new voter registrations that took place on November 5, 2024.
As an integral part of our mission to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public, we believe access to these records is essential. Our aim is to gather and report news in a manner that upholds the highest standards of journalistic integrity.
The requested records include a list of voters who registered on Election Day. This information will contribute significantly towards understanding the dynamics of voter participation in this critical election.
Given our role as a media organization disseminating information to the public, we have also requested for a fee waiver as per standard protocol for media professionals.
