FOIA Request to Village of Waterford Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
We at Racine Sun, a media organization dedicated to delivering comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of new voters who registered on November 5, 2024.
As journalists committed to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to such public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. We believe that we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals due to our role in disseminating information.
