This summer is shaping up as the season of good vibes, courtesy of the Downtown Racine Corporation (DRC).
According to the Racine County Eye, all summer long, DRC is set to host Music on the Monument and Saturday Sounds on the Square at Monument Square. Featuring local artists performing from a variety of genres (jazz, classic rock, bluegrass and soul funk), the free live music events will be staged every Friday and Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. between Friday, June 17, and Saturday, August 27.
“We are excited to be able to offer so much free live music, from so many diverse genres,” Kelly Kruse, DRC executive director, told the Racine County Eye. “It’s a great opportunity for visitors and residents to explore downtown, go shopping and have dinner at one of our amazing restaurants.”
In the event of heavy rain, concert dates will be canceled with no makeups scheduled. Weather updates will be posted on the Downtown Racine Facebook page. Parking can be found at the Lake Avenue Ramp (300 Lake Ave.) and the McMynn Ramp (120 7th St.) for only $2 all day. Around Monument Square, metered street parking is also available.
Tables and chairs will be provided at the concert and beer and soda will be sold.
