RYDE Racine recently revealed the launch of a new cell phone app to help riders easily plan their trips.
The new app lets RYDE riders see and plan trips through a new vehicle locator using their smartphones, Racine County Eye reported.
The app provides real-time data on bus locations, along with arrival and departure times. The app also takes sight-impaired riders into account and gives audible announcements regarding when their stop is nearing.
“The launch of this app is an important part of an overall effort to modernize our transit system,” Trevor Jung, city of Racine transit manager, said, according to Racine County Eye. “Improvements like this will enhance the customer experience for our passengers and make utilizing public transit a more viable transportation option.”
The app will provide real-time updates about routes or schedules that are changed due to construction or re-routing.
The Racine RYDE app is available for free. Riders can download it by visiting their phone's app store and searching for “RYDE Racine Transit.”
