Vincent Antonio Rottino was born on April 7, 1980, in Racine, Wisconsin. He graduated from St. Catherine’s High School before attending the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse.
In 2003, Rottino signed with the Milwaukee Brewers as an undrafted free agent and made his Major League Baseball debut in 2006. Over his career, he played for the Brewers, Miami Marlins, New York Mets, and Cleveland Indians, appearing in 62 MLB games. His defensive positions included catcher, first base, third base, and outfield.
In 2007, Rottino delivered a walk-off single for the Brewers, securing the franchise’s first winning season since 1992. He also represented Team Italy in the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
Rottino extended his career internationally, joining Japan’s Orix Buffaloes in 2013 and South Korea’s Nexen Heroes in 2014. He later returned to minor league baseball in the United States before retiring in 2016.
Following his playing career, Rottino transitioned to sports broadcasting and currently serves as a television analyst for FanDuel Sports Wisconsin, covering Milwaukee Brewers games.
He continues to reside in Racine with his wife and three daughters. Rottino’s career, which began locally and expanded internationally, remains closely connected to Wisconsin’s baseball community through his media involvement.
His progression from an undrafted player to a Major League contributor highlights his dedication and perseverance, marked by a diverse professional tenure spanning MLB, Nippon Professional Baseball, and the Korea Baseball Organization, all while maintaining strong ties to his Racine roots.
