Died February 1: Football player from Racine

This week marks the death anniversary of a football player born in Racine in 1904. He played high school football locally before joining the University of Wisconsin Badgers from 1925 to 1928. Known as both a passer and runner, he played halfback and quarterback. After college, he played professionally in the National Football League for the Chicago Cardinals from 1929 to 1932. He appeared in 34 games and scored 37 points. His career included legal troubles, with charges for theft and assault during his playing years. Despite these challenges, he made a mark in football both locally and professionally. His connection to Racine comes from his birth and early life in the city. He died February 1, 1979.
