The Village of Elmwood Park has announced a street paving schedule for September 3 and 4. Residents are advised to review the schedule and make necessary arrangements for parking and travel.
On Wednesday, September 3, the binder course will be applied to Maryland and the remainder of Wheelock. The village states that vehicles can drive on these streets the same day after this layer is completed.
Also on Wednesday, Green Meadows Lane will receive a surface course. Drivers are instructed to wait one to two days before driving on this newly paved area. The village advises residents to park in the church parking lot during this time. If access from Lathrop Avenue is not possible, drivers should use Green Meadows Lane to enter the lot. The announcement also cautions against making sharp turns on the new asphalt when entering the parking lot.
On Thursday, September 4, surface courses will be applied to North Elmwood, McArthur, Maryland, Wheelock, and Green Meadows Lane if it was not finished previously. As with other areas receiving a surface course, residents should avoid driving on these roads for one to two days after paving.
The village asks residents to watch for posted signs and avoid driving or parking on freshly paved roads until they are reopened. "We appreciate your patience as we continue these improvements," stated the Village of Elmwood Park.
