The Racine Unified School District (RUSD) has announced new features in its mobile app, aiming to improve communication between families and school staff. According to the district, the updated app will soon allow parents and guardians to send and receive messages directly with teachers, coaches, and other school staff.
Starting at the end of August, a feature called Rooms will be added to the app. This will serve as a hub for classroom updates, one-on-one conversations, group messages, and important announcements. The district states that this platform is intended to provide "one secure place to stay informed and connected."
Users will automatically begin receiving messages once the platform launches. They can view and respond to communications through their phones.
RUSD encourages families to download the app, which also allows users to add events to their calendars with one click, view updates and announcements, and receive notifications.
Horlick High School is among the schools affected by these changes. In the 2023-24 school year, Horlick High School enrolled 1,281 students, making it the third largest in Racine County. This number reflects a 4.4% decrease from the previous year (https://dpi.wi.gov/).
The RUSD app is available for download on both Android (https://aptg.co/3HzCRh) and iPhone (https://aptg.co/DFlh0s).
