Jason Paul Collum was born on July 15, 1973, in Brookfield, Wisconsin, and grew up in Racine. He developed an early interest in horror films and began making short films as a teenager. Collum became known for his work in the horror genre, particularly for creating the first gay-themed horror franchise with October Moon and its sequel. He has written and directed several films, documentaries, and books, including Sleepless Nights: Revisiting the Slumber Party Massacres and Assault of the Killer Bs. Collum also worked with B-movie filmmakers like David DeCoteau and J. R. Bookwalter. His career has earned recognition within the horror community.
