After graduating from Horlick High School in 2020, Benjamin Torine pursued higher education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He enrolled in the Naval ROTC program and completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology, graduating this past May.

Currently, Torine serves as a Navy Medical Service Corps Officer in the U.S. Navy. He describes his role as unique within the Navy officer community: "While I am a U.S. Navy officer I am proudly serving alongside Marines with what is known as 'greenside medical', green referring to the Marine Corps." Torine expresses gratitude for his opportunity to be deployed overseas in Japan.

Looking ahead, Torine plans to continue his education after completing his remaining 4.5 years in the Navy. He intends to pursue a Doctorate in Psychology or an M.D. in Psychiatry, aiming to serve his community further: "Life is all about learning!"

Reflecting on his high school experience, Torine acknowledges its role in preparing him for the future: "My highschool experience helped me realize that I loved learning and I loved people." He appreciated being able to choose subjects like chemistry, physics, music theory, and aviation through the Aviation Pathway course offered by Mr. Bucholtz.
