A vacancy has arisen in the City of Racine’s 8th aldermanic district. The Common Council will fill this vacancy through an appointment process. One individual will be selected to serve for the remainder of the term, which expires on April 14, 2025.
Eligible residents of the 8th aldermanic district interested in applying must submit letters of interest and resumes to the Racine City Human Resources Office by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. The Racine Common Council is scheduled to make an appointment from among the eligible applicants during its meeting on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
Should there be more than four eligible applicants, an Executive Committee meeting will take place on July 10, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. to narrow down the list to four candidates. Subsequently, the Committee of the Whole will meet on July 10, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. to interview up to four candidates. Participation in this interview is mandatory for eligibility.
The Committee of the Whole will then make a recommendation to the Common Council for final appointment.
