Sister City Student Exchange Program Seeks Applicants

The City of Racine has announced an exciting opportunity for current ninth, tenth, or eleventh-grade residents to participate in the Sister City Student Exchange Program with Oiso, Japan. This cultural exchange program aims to foster international cooperation and understanding between Racine and Oiso. Applications are being accepted by the Racine Sister City Committee until April 26, 2024.

The exchange program is scheduled to take place from July 25, 2024, to August 7, 2024. Participants will have the chance to represent the youth of Racine and immerse themselves in Japanese culture by staying with host families, engaging in cultural activities, and forming lasting friendships abroad.

To apply for this unique opportunity, students must submit an essay and obtain two letters of recommendation. Completed applications must be received by April 26, 2024, for consideration. Interested students can access the application on the program's website.

City of Racine stated, "This cultural exchange program aims to foster international cooperation and understanding between Racine and Oiso."
