RACINE—The City of Racine is excited to announce that our current lifeguard staffing level allows us to expand coverage at Zoo Beach starting on Thursday, July 13th. The change is being made in part due to the diligent recruitment efforts of the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services (PRCS) Department.
PRCS will extend lifeguarding hours to provide a safer and more enjoyable experience for all residents and visitors. Zoo Beach will now have lifeguards on duty from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday during the summer.
“We are thrilled to announce the extension of lifeguarding hours at Zoo Beach,” said Director Tom Molbeck of the PRCS Department. “I’d like to thank my staff, specifically Phil Kiley and his team who are dedicated to resident and visitor safety on the beach.”
“Our extended lifeguard hours are about helping our community stay safe this summer.” said Phil Kiley, City Lifeguard Supervisor. “We can stay safe and enjoy Racine’s number one amenity this summer. It’s a win-win.”
Remember, swimming is more enjoyable when done responsibly and with consideration for others.
We encourage all residents and visitors to familiarize themselves with the beach safety guidelines and check the status of each beach on the PRCS Department’s website: https://www.cityofracine.org/Beaches/
