The Burlington Community Education Department is proud to announce that they will be hosting their first DEMON TRIATHLON on August 20, 2022. The course will begin at Rockland Lake with a swim.  Racers will then transition to the bike portion where they will head south and ride through the scenic country road and will finish with a run through beautiful downtown Burlington. The Burlington Community Education Department strives to encourage community involvement in activities with the goal of working with our community.

Any access funds will go directly towards the Burlington Area School District’s School Forest. Funding will be used towards the upkeep of the trail systems, combating invasive species, and general maintenance of the forest. Burlington’s School Forest provides many opportunities, including: outdoor education for all levels of students, home site for the Burlington High School Cross Country Invitational, offers ski and running trails, and is available for the public’s use year-round.

Location:  Burlington High School, 400 McCanna Parkway, Burlington WI

Start Time:  8:00 AM

Distance:  1/3 Mile Swim, 17 Mile Bike Ride, 3.1 Mile Run (additional info below)

Transition:  Opens at 6:30 AM.  Closes at 7:30 AM.

Categories:  Individual, Relay, Clydesdale "over 250"

Award Categories:  Overall male, overall female, Top three age groups, Top three clydesdales, Top three relay team mixed, Top three relay male team, Top three relay female team.

Awards:  Yet to be determined.

Finisher Medal:  Each participant will receive a medal.

Meal:  Included after the race.

Age Groups:  10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89

Swag:  Performance t-shirt if registered 14 days prior to event.

Additional Route Information:

• The swim will occur in Rockland Lake. Swimmers will be bused to Camp MacLean beach for a point -to-point swim. Swimmers will exit the lake behind the high school.
• The bike will lead you south out of town on rolling country roads that will lead you out and back to transition. The route will not be closed to traffic but police and volunteers will be at road crossings. 
• The run will lead you to downtown Burlington crossing the beautiful fox river.
