Shopko at 980 Milwaukee Ave. has a new optical department, offering services from eye exams to the screening, detection and management of eye diseases.

Originally established over 40 years ago, a Shopko Optical location was added to Shopko in Burlington as of Feb. 21, according to Racine County Eye.

“We are so excited to join the Burlington community with this new Shopko Optical center,” Shopko Optical CEO Russ Steinhors said, per Racine County Eye. “With this new location, we can continue our mission of offering quality eye care to patients.”

Shopko Optical offers Kids in Focus, which is a special program through Shopko Optical and local Lions Clubs, that offers complimentary eye exams and eyewear for children ages 5-17, according to Racine County Eye.

"Shopko Optical is the trade name of Shoptikal LLC, an affiliate of Monarch Alternative Capital LP," Shopko Optical officials say, according to Racine County Eye. "For more than 40 years, Shopko Optical has provided excellent patient-centric care and high-quality eyewear through its dedicated team of nearly 700 optometrists (independent doctors of optometry in Iowa, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota and Washington) and opticians. Shopko Optical expects further growth in 2022 and beyond."

Vision plans that Shopko Optical Center accepts include EyeMed, UHC Vision, DeltaVision from EyeMed, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, Anthem, open access provider for VSP and many others.
