Union Grove dominates Racine County girls golf.
The all-county Racine girls golf team got back to normal this year after the pandemic, with Junior Norah Roberts leading the way, four of the five members from team one are students at Union Grove.
"She came in as a freshman as a good golfer, but has really worked to take her game to another level," golf coach Eric Swanson told the Racine Sun when asked about Roberts. "She has improved her putting and has worked on her swing with her swing coach to add a lot of distance as well."
Coach Swanson is looking forward to Roberts's senior year.
"I am looking for her to make even more improvements in her game," Coach Swanson told the Racine Sun. "She is such a competitor and it is fun to see her compete against the state's best."
Coach Swanson also discussed other players he thought could make major improvements this year.
"Lexi Manteufel, a sophomore, improved tremendously over the past year," Coach Swanson told the Racine Sun. "I am looking for her to make big strides in her game before next season starts."
Norah Roberts was recently awarded the All-State player of the year, the first Racine girl to do so in 20 years. She was also named All-county Player of the Year for the third year. Roberts won every tournament this past season, excluding the all-state tournament.
