Racine Mayor Cory Mason reminded residents that the city is continuing to offer $100 in gift cards for anyone who receives their COVID vaccination, as well as a $50 gift card for anyone who brings someone else to get vaccinated.
Racine currently sits in the “high” category of CDC Community Transmission levels, which equals a seven-day average of more than 100 cases per 100,000 people, according to Racine Coronavirus.
“Get fully vaccinated and get $100 in gift cards. These are available to City of Racine residents while supplies last," Mason wrote in a Facebook post last week. "If you’re already vaccinated, do you have a family member, friend, or co-worker that wants to be vaccinated? You can earn a $50 gift card simply by bringing them in with you. Check out the list of Pop-Up clinics at VaccinateRacine.org #VaccinateRacine #Racine.”
In the state of Wisconsin, Racine County has the fifth-highest vaccination rate, with 57% of the population having at least one dose of the vaccine, according to Covid Act Now.
For vaccination locations, two are operated by the City of Racine, in addition to Central Racine County Health Department, Good Value Pharmacy, Lakeview Pharmacy of Racine, Pick n Save Pharmacy, Walgreens, Walmart, Ascension Wisconsin, AdvocateAuroraHealth and Froedtert South, according to Racine Coronavirus.
