Rep. Bryan Steil responded in a tweet to the Democrats' plan for a $1 trillion infrastructure bill and a $3.5 trillion climate change bill.

The two bills have been vigorously backed by Democrats alongside Nancy Pelosi, who has “vowed” that the infrastructure bill will pass this week so that they can move on to the climate change/social safety net bill, according to Associated Press

"Biden and Pelosi’s massive spending plans will: Wastefully spend trillions of taxpayer dollars, raise taxes on families and workers, drive prices for goods even higher and expand the power and size of the federal government," Steil wrote in a tweet

The 2,465-page infrastructure was pushed through the House budget committee last Saturday, Sept. 25, and aims to modify Medicare, push for cleaner energy and put higher taxes on wealthy individuals and corporations, according to The Guardian.

According to Steil, these bills hold the potential to “wastefully spend trillions of taxpayer dollars," should they receive full bipartisan support. However, majorities in Congress are extremely slim and would require compromise to pass both bills, according to Politico

“Absolutely not. A deal is a deal. We are not passing anything short of having the full Build Back Better agenda," said Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn), according to Politico.
