A Trafalgar poll recently released showed a major difference in who voters trust when it comes to state and federal leaders.
The survey was conducted by the Trafalgar Group, in partnership with Convention of States Action (COSA), and examined 1,119 likely general election voters, according to the Trafalgar Group.
The poll finds that most Americans either trust President Joe Biden and Congressional Democrats to be most effective at defending and promoting issues they find important, or they trust Republican governors and state Legislatures.
The poll found that 34.8% were partial to federal Democrats and 33% were partial to Republican state leaders. Only 15% trusted congressional Republicans and even fewer, 9.4%, trusted state Democrat leaders, according to the poll.
The results widely differed by party affiliation, with 63.5% of Democrats preferring Biden and Congressional Democrats, and only 7.6% said state Republican leaders, according to the poll. About 63% of Republicans trusted state leaders more, and only 8.6% said Biden and Congressional Democrats, according to the poll.
The third party and independent respondents had varied responses, but a plurality of 30.3% had the most faith in Republican governors and state legislators, according to the poll.
COSA is a grassroots political organization with over five million supporters across the United States. The organization's primary focus is on calling an Article V Convention of the States to propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution. COSA only promotes amendments which would impose limitations on the size and scope of the federal government, according to its website.
The Trafalgar Group is a public polling and market research firm, according to its website.
