South Shore Fire Department Mt. Pleasant issued the following announcement on June 15.
A burn ban will be in effect for the Villages of Mount Pleasant, Sturtevant, and Elmwood Park.
The WI DNR has placed Racine County under HIGH fire risk. These current dry conditions make it easy for fire to start and spread. Recreational fires, open burns, or fireworks of any kind will not be permitted. Supervised grilling for the purpose of cooking will be allowed during this ban.
