VILLAGE OF CALEDONIA POLICE DEPARTMENT: Weekly update/last week in Caledonia on Facebook/calls

Calendar 01

Village of Caledonia Police Department recently issued the following announcement.

In an effort to be more transparent, we are going to be starting a weekly update/last week in Caledonia on Facebook/calls for service/roll call log.  We are starting with just this past weekend and they should come out on Tuesdays.  I figured with the equine population we should call it the "Weekly Roundup".

Below are some highlights of calls that our officers responded to over the Memorial Day weekend 05/28 – 05/31:

05/31 – Officers were called to a residence for a welfare check on a male and female that were reportedly physically fighting. After investigation, the female was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Damage to Property and transported to jail.

05/31 – A door to door salesman reported that his Segway was stolen from a grassy area in front of a residence. A suspect vehicle was in the area picking up scrap and may have mistakenly taken the Segway. Investigation continuing.  #hedidnthaveasalespermiteither

05/31 – Officers were requested to assist Racine County Sheriff for a report of an occupant of a vehicle pointing a rifle at other vehicles on the interstate. The vehicle was located, and a high-risk felony stop was conducted. It was discovered that two children in the rear seat had been playing with toy guns.

05/30 – Officers were called to a local motel for a possible suicidal subject. The complainant stated that the male subject had threatened suicide while on a video chat. The subject was located and taken into custody and transported to the hospital by Caledonia Fire and Rescue. The subject was evaluated to by Racine County Human Services and detained under Chapter 51.15 and later transported to a mental health facility for treatment.

05/28 – Officers were dispatched to a local business that had the catalytic converters cut off two of their work trucks sometime between 6PM on 05/27 and 7AM on 05/28. Investigation continuing.

Officers took 219 calls for service, conducted 61 traffic stops, made 5 OWI arrests (including one in the construction zone) and handled 3 accidents over the weekend.

Stay safe,

Sgt. G.
