If you pay your property taxes in installments, note that the second installment is due by July 31st to Racine County. Payments sent to the Village will be returned for reissuance.

Payments can be made in person or by mail at the Racine County Treasurer’s Office, located at 730 Wisconsin Avenue, Racine, WI 53403. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays.

A remote drop-off site is available at Burlington City Hall, located at 300 N Pine Street, Burlington, WI 53105. There is also a 24-hour “County Treasurer” drop box outside the Racine County Courthouse building on the east side next to the U.S. Postal box.

To pay by credit card or electronic check, call 1-800-272-9829 or use the internet link on the Property Tax Page of Racine County’s website. You will need to create a new account or log in to an existing one and select “Local Payments” for real estate tax payments using Jurisdiction Code 5835.

Checks should be made payable to RACINE COUNTY TREASURER. If you want a receipt for drop box or mailed payments, include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your payment.

Penalties and interest will begin accruing monthly if payment is not received by July 31st. If property taxes are not paid in full before September 1st, a Tax Certificate will be issued against the property per WI State Statute 74.57.

This information applies only to second installment payments.
